But what is this aspiring technology? IDP is an advanced system that can recognize and extract data from complex files.

Intelligent Document Processing vs Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is the technology working with many kinds of documents. It recognizes letters, numbers and other language-related characters from documents and converts them to editable form of digital files. 

This technology has been known since the early 80s but now it’s improved by the addition of Artificial Intelligence. OCR based on AI is exactly IDP.
